One of the key issues for steel structure manufacturers to control welding deformation during welding construction. The deformation during the processing of steel structures is mainly due to rigid or plastic deformation caused by temperature changes during welding. Welding deformation can seriously affect the strength and toughness of welded joints, reducing their corrosion resistance. To avoid welding deformation as much as possible, the following measures can be taken:
1. Reasonably arrange welding grooves to reduce welding deformation;
2. During the processing of steel structures, stress concentration should be avoided as much as possible;
3. Corresponding anti deformation measures should be taken for corner welds, such as using synchronous asymmetric welding technology for symmetrical components;
4. Choose appropriate welding materials and adopt appropriate welding processes to reduce welding stress.
How to Control and Solve Welding in Steel Structure Processing (Figure 1)
In addition, the following aspects should also be noted during the steel structure processing:
When using low-temperature welding technology to weld steel structure workpieces, the welding strength varies due to different preheating temperatures, especially in thick plate welding. Low temperature greatly affects the strength index of the steel plate, because the steel has low hardness and is prone to embrittlement under low-temperature conditions. At the microscopic level, due to the accelerated cooling rate of the weld at low temperatures, a brittle structure called martensite is formed between the weld and the heat affected zone. Therefore, when using low-temperature welding, special attention should be paid to the influence of environmental temperature on welding.
When selecting the groove form for welding joints, in order to fully penetrate the arc to the root of the weld, it is necessary to open the groove on the joint. When selecting the shape of the groove, a groove form that is easy to process should be chosen to ensure that the weld can be fully welded, thereby reducing welding costs and reducing the possibility of deformation after welding.
When selecting welding materials, it is necessary to fully consider factors such as the chemical composition, physical and mechanical properties, and joint form of the base material. If the welding material is not selected correctly, it is easy to produce brittle cracks in the transition zone of the weld. Therefore, while ensuring the design strength, low hydrogen alkaline or titanium calcium welding rods should be selected as much as possible, because their yield strength is lower and their impact toughness is better; Simultaneously preheat the welding rod to improve its fatigue strength.
Just the welding process, it is necessary to fully consider various factors of construction. Therefore, steel structure processing manufacturers should have a comprehensive and detailed evaluation system and indicators to ensure the quality of production and processing products, and provide customers with high-quality products and services.
